And CFLs don't seem too bad
Of course you would know the dangers..but majority of people don't and they won't think once on the dangers.....
And have you ever done any tests on LED in enclosed fixtures? Remember heat goes up....and in enclosed fixtures there are little openings on the top, like holes for junction boxes and sometimes even for heat...depending on design.....
Have you tried an LED in enclosed fixtures? I would say its better using LED in enclosed fixtures than CFL (even the CFL CLEARLY says do not put in enclosed fixtures) plus fixtures are usually metal so it helps that the metal parts of fixtures will act as an heat sink (even though its not REAL heat sink, it still helps) So have you tried yet? if you haven't don't say it will have a short life I rather you try it! I have opened up a lot of enclosed fixtures and CFL ALWAYS looks CREEPY when discovering them, all blackened and yellow and often with brown marks and stuff. Upon removing them some actually crumbled....but most of the time it's around the ends of the glass bulb....
saftey
I've only had a dollar store CFL smoke at EOL, other then that nothing bad, one did melt a bit at the base at my grandma's but was ok
