Under the flasher there is a pedestrian crossing sign lit with a fluorescents. Some of these flashers have in their pedestrian crossing signs downlighters with a HPS lamps to light up the pedestrian crossing.
Unlike in the US, where multiple seperate lights and signs are used for pedestrian crossing. In Israel one (For one-way roads) or two (For two-way roads, one for each way) of these signals on a single or two posts are used, with both the signal and the wig-wag flasher can be replaced seperately if failed. This is an all in one pedestrian crossing signal.
