400W HPS M-250A2 on I-295
Yep. Quite a few lights are now M-400s, so RIDOT is either being proactive in preventing the lamps from overheating, or more likely the ballasts can't take the confined space.

I've noticed that most MTO lights are in medium fixtures too, even some 100w HPS are in M-400A3s here. I think the small fixtures on MTO roads here were mostly installed as spot replacements.

for FCO they use all medium fixtures but for drop lens, the use the M-400 for 400W lights and M-250R2 for 250 lights. I think the M-250R2 looks better than the new M-400, and on top of that they don't seem to have cycling problems like the M-400 does. I always thought these M-250A2 were 250 watts until I happened to look up at the NEMA tags.
