None of you could have guessed it right, well here it is! Originally 175w MV with a 240v reactor. The little 50w HX ballast fit perfectly. So what do ya think guys?

Has anyone thought of trying a 50w merc in a cobrahead?

Someone here converted a L-150 to 75W MV.

Interesting, the lowest I converted a cobra to is 100w MV but if I had a a 50w MV ballast and lamp I might give that a try.

It's actually brighter than you think! 50w mercs can light a residential street with 15' tall light poles.

80W mercury is still used here as a residential sidestreet lamp, even in new non LED fixtures.

How well does the 80w mercury lamp light the road? Here the lowest wattage MV lamp for a typical street lamp is 100w, but 35w HPS versions exist.

The lowest I've "converted" any lights to would be 175W MH/MV (OV-25).
