Here's a huge 20' truss arm mounted on a wooden pole. Maine typically has 6' upsweep arms with 10' and 20' truss arms here and there. All new street light installations are FCO due to a dark sky law there. A few mercs are still found on back roads but they are rare.
Yeah but NGrid still installs drop lens lights. Doesn't the local goverment have say in what gets installed? IDSA is in the south so why do they care what gets isntalled up in Maine?
The IDA is not a government agency it is a non-profit organization. It is up to states and cities to pass such laws. Maine is one of those darksky states. Others include Vermont (but they allow mercs), Arizona, New Mexico, and the largest island in Hawaii. In California there is no statewide darksky law, but San Diego County is a darksky area.
Ahh i see now. Blackstone Valley Electric used FCO lights when they did the bulk of their HPS changeover though i don't think they were IDSA members. NGrid installs drop lens lights in that area when a FCO fails. That's how i can tell when a light is new (well the GEs are also very very glossy when new).
Looks similar to the 20 foot trusses in my area, but not exactly the same. Maryland is also another Dark Sky state, however it's not as strict as Arizona, we do sometimes find drop get installed instead of FCO or Sag lens, but still is a Dark Sky state.
Dave are you sure the upsweeps are 6 footers? I saw the google map they look more like 5 footers, they look bigger than the 4 foot we have in BGE but smaller than the PEPCO's 6 footers.
No 15 foot trusses eh? BGE has 10 foot, possible 12 foot, and 15 foot and finally the 20 foot in truss arms and 30 inch and 4 foot in upsweeps, Maine's setup is VERY similar to BGE's combination except upsweeps look a bit bigger.
No problem. If you need any specifics let me know. Just FYI once you stick the contact paper over the tag and onto the door, if you peel it off, it'll come off quite easily but won't stick back down very easily so you'll have to glue it back down if you want to reuse any tags.
Upon the first use it's easy to remove but once the surface is heated and then cooled it'll stand up to whatever mother neature has to throw at it (hopefully mother nature doesn't actually throw anything at your lights though. )
