This one is painted on the inside, something I've never seen in person until i got this. Needless to say it still works and is stonger than my NOS electronic DTL PCs! This buzzes a tiny bit but isn't really noticeable.
Way cool! I'd love to find one like this. The inside paint was a good idea - they don't fade. I hate when the blue ones turn an ugly yellow-green and the gray ones turn yellow-brown.
Thanks guys! Best of all is that it still works! Some of the PCs isntalled here barely make it a month without going bad. I don't think this was opened up... I forget if the gasket was pierced where the screws are. It'd be more conveinient if the gaskets were hole-punched where the screws are. That way you don't have to make an uglu piercing in the gasket with the screwdriver or locate where the screws are. No shiled doesn't bother me. Just makes the unit more sensitive. Will the eye be harmed if the shiled is removed? If so, this one hasn't taken a toll but would the eye's life be copromised without the shield or does the shield soley block stray light?
EDIT: I was wondering if anyone could date this photocell. The sticker on the base says 6660 (model number) has a pink "J" stamped on and then 14 (bolded) followed by 383991. Thanks to anyone who can date this.
