Aaron, the 17 watt is a high wattage for LEDs like equivalent to I would say 100 or 150 watt! This is a 40 watt equivalent...don't misguide others LOL!
And YES FELIPE! make an album, I will give you some LEDs
What brands would be those LEDs? The unbranded lamp I mentioned is the one you gave me ages ago. The one with 20 5mm LEDs with a removable cover. (Just unscrew it off.)
I suppose I could get some truck lights on here sooner or later.
The Utilitech LEDs i have are 7.5 watts and i have to say they give off around the same amount of light as a 60W incandescent lamp, though they're very directional, which bothers me a little but. I love the color of the LEDs too over incandescent. Incandescent is too yellowish IMO while the Utilitech LEDs seem to be more of a halogen color... I have yet to get some of these. Last i checked the price was too much for my taste.
@Michael if you want to buy halogen bulbs check out Wal-Mart they sell 4 packs of halogen bulbs for as little as $3.68 for the Great Value cheapolas. But they also have GE and Sylvania 4 packs at $4.62 and $5.49 respectively, more expensive but cheaper than Lowes. The most expensive ones are the Sylvania double life halogens at $6.88. Be careful of the Mexican GE 72 watters they are ok but some have severely stretched filaments so check the bulbs before buying.
I've never seen medium base halogens used before (i do see them on shelves for sale), though i've seen them used in floodlights and i strongly prefer the color. Do they make frosted/diffused halogen lamps or just clear ones? How much more efficient is halogen over incandescent?
I thought you bought some Sylvania 72 watters last year? The halogen household bulbs are slightly whiter than standard incs, indeed nice. They are selling very well here at Wal-Mart like people still think they are regular incs, only complain that prices "went up" lol.
I wonder what other states other than Maryland had reduced the prices of the LEDs? In Maryland those Philips Ambeint LEDs 8 watt, are
12 dollars and 15 dollars for 12.5 watt......
Information see here and here ......I can't find other information online for other electric companies in MD for 2012 but I saw they are doing same thing.....each electric companies select specific light bulbs to reduce prices.....one has more selections than others.....whoever provides the store electricity is the one who offers the products in that store!
Rhode Island does the same, they had the 12.5w ambientled for $12 when I was there two months ago. Here they discount the L-prize for $25, normal price is $50!
L-Prize lamp has red LEDs in there alongside with the blue ones. Someone actually dissected one of the $50 L-Prize lamp! (WARNING! Loads of HUGE pics in the link!) WHEW! Now none of us can risk destroying a $50 lamp!
I was wondering what was so special about the L-Prize lamps over the Ambient-LED ones. Googled about it and found that link.
