Philips 35w HPS
|
These are the only 35w HPS lamps I can find locally now, and with the $7 Luma HPS lamps only lasting a year and a half on average, I thought I'd try one. I was at first happy to see it wasn't a low-mercury version, but then I saw it was made in China. And while the innards look like an early 2000's US design, it appears to be hand-made - by someone who doesn't know how to make lamps. The frame is crooked, the ceramic-insulator base is crooked and the solder is poorly applied...all I can hope for is that at least the arc tube end seals and electrodes were properly manufactured so it doesn't leak.
