Yeah maybe this was left over on a lineman's truck and was never installed. I'll have to check if the hinges are new or old. They look like the may actually be older from the pic. Anyways, the glass looks like one used on a Powerlite, which is very odd since that style glass was never used here from my knowledge except by the unistyles and they were in small numbers and most have plastic lenses. anyways, it looks pretty cool with that glass IMO. I also noticed i caught the signals on yellow which is something i very rarely happen to do.

National Grid usually switches brands every few years. And yes, it is a new light. Redesigned hinge and the "bucktooth" latch are the giveaways.

My power company started using GE street lights in 2011.

National grid has had a long-term contract with GE since they moved to the states. They cancelled the contract with GE when they moved their facilities to China since the lights were not worth the cast aluminum they were made from and moved to Cooper (i don't know why they choose cooper since they're lights are pretty shotty too) then they renewed their contract with GE when GE moved their manufacturing back to the states. I'm guessing maybe they had a shortage of 250W fixtures since NGrid has been fixing up many of RIDOT's freeway lights that haven't worked in years and this means LOTS of replacement light. If it doesn't light with a new lamp (as well as a PC and refractor and occasionally a door if needed) then it's replaced with no questions asked. I never understood why they wouldn't change out plug-in ingitors, but now i realize those things are so fragile that the lineman wearing his gloves would likely have to go through three or four new starters to get one in without breaking it.

I was driving through a National Grid town on a way to a job today and noticed a OVZ with this exact lens. Looks like National Grid may be back to Cooper again.

I'm guessing this was Mass? To be honest, i liek this lens much better in the OVZ than i do the previous lens. OVX is probably a different story though... Since the OVX has a more boxier appearance overall, so the older more squared off lens probably looks better. I'd liek to see 115s with this style lens but then if that happens we'll no longer be able to get replacement lenses for our Westie OV-15s and L-150s. I wonder if cooper will use this style lens on the canadian silverliners...

Yes mass it was, I have already seen an OVX with it, it's not that bad looking, I'll try to get a photo next time I'm in that area.

Lithonia still makes the cobraheads? I noticed they vanished off Lithonia's website a year or so ago. (Or do you mean AEL?)

Anyone have pictures of the glassware, I'm not that familiar with what type does AEL use and what type does Cooper use.

I saw a Cooper Lighting OVZ with a GE M-250R2 glass refractor in Shaler Township, PA.
