Why not 890 lumens? Seems like a way to fool the consumer into thinking a CFL is better and brighter...these would be more efficient if they were still 890 lumens like they used to be...
Hmm interesting...I've always wondered why they didn't make bulbs like this that had a slightly increased wattage so that they are still long life, but as bright as a standard life bulb...
Am I the only one who doesn't particularly care for the new/current packaging design for GE, Sylvania, and Philips? I miss the "Lightstyles for Lifestyles" GE packaging, bulb, and etch designs (ooh those were the awesome days when 60w bulbs had vertical CC-8 filaments and all wattages had higher lumens), the Philips "Shield" logo/packaging/etch, and I've just never liked Sylvania's packaging...am I the only one?
If I could find older GE and Philips lamps that's what I'd use...
