#4 Underground Triplex Cable

The entire City of Buffalo is getting all new underground wiring for the streetlights. This is replacing #6 and #8 solid wire. According to the National Grid crew foreman I spoke to, the idea is to get rid of "stray voltage" which could pose a hazard, not to mention some of the old wiring dates back all the way to the 1920s and has insulation that contains lead. A #4 green ground lead is added to the cable for separate grounding (smart idea!)
