Yep yours is a Westy. The lamp division of Westinghouse was sold to Philips in Feburary '83. The fixture division of Westinghouse was sold to Crouse Hinds in September '82. The lamp above is most likely 1984-86.
Totally separate, today's Westinghouse was formerly known as Angelo Brothers Co, which sold cheap imported bulbs, fans and accessories under the Abco name.
Abco? Do they actually make their own lamps or rebrand other company's lamps as westinghouse lamps? Are their lamps any good? I'm guessing they wanted the Westie name so people would buy their products thinking they were top-notch?
Nope they make nothing, all bought from various outside suppliers. They got the rights to the Westinghouse name for lighting in 1997 and in 2000 they changed over to the Westinghouse brand, after selling both brands for two years.
but you got a way cooler lamp now!
