It is my understanding that matte finish outside coated bulbs were made at first half of the 20th century
Does this one has etch at the top of the bulb when lit?

hmm i didn't think to check the lamp for an etch when i lit it... I'll have to try that tomorrow.

Looks like a 7.5w indicator bulb; where'd this come from?

yep, i checked the etch and it's 7.5W, 115V. It says GE in a squarish font sorta like a digital clock. the logo is not present.
