Just out of curiousity were the Valmont ballasts original? Is the Advance one full power?
Looks like it could even be 8-lamp, but it'd be a tight fit...it'd be better if T8s were used in that case...

cool! thanks for the pic. Smile looks quite crammed in there. I suppose if you really wanted an 8-lamp troffer and not either have it weigh a ton or be super cramped, two 4-lamp T8 ballasts could be used. that'd be a LOT of light, especially if HBF ballasts are used! Shocked Very Happy

The Valmont ballasts are indeed original. The Advance is a newer one/its not full power.

Things are crammed in LOL...even as-is T8's would actually work better (its kind of a pain to install/remove lamps - have to take all 3 out of their sockets to change any 1)

8-lamp probably could be done with some lamp re-arangement, but yep you'd need to to use 4-lamp ballasts LOL. Deff be bright then that way (allot of heat too...might need a fan if you did that)

wow a cram troffer! Razz

I've seen 2 X 4 troffers with straight sides and with those you could fit six lamps comfortably in.

Maybe another 2-lamp ballast could fit in there it'd be tight though...I'd actually almost be tempted to convert this to 4100K, 5000K or 6500K T8 lamps with 4-lamp ballasts.
I (sorta) converted one of those troffer-ish "Old-School" lights I have to 3-lamp...sockets are installed now as well as a lamp but I need a ballast to complete it...like this, adding that lamp makes relamping more difficult (with that fixture it was hard already) Laughing
