Well looks like another town here in Mass has gone the way of the LED. This light replaced a 100 watt HPS M-250R2. I'm not sure the wattage since there is no label on the fixture.
i actually don't mind the look of these too much but i'd better get used to seeing the cooper or GE LEDs since if NGrid goes LED, thats probably what they'll be using.
The light distribution of these fixtures is nice too. The only LED fixtures I have not been to fond with has been the LRL'S that easthampton installed.
ahh that's good. nice looking and good distribution. One thing i'll miss with all these green light sources is the entertaining warm-up period. when i was a little kid, me and my grandma would takes walks after supper in her neighborhood around dusk and i'd see all the HPS street lights turn on. i'm not old enough to have been able to see a whole neighborhood of mercs flicker to life one by one.
They look better than most of the LEDs installed here. I guess those that are old enough to remember incandescent streetlights still in use will find LED does that same thing as the old incandescents.
