I'd actually like to get this light when it comes down. I'll have to contact the contractor that's doing the work to see what I can arrange.

Yeah, it would be cool to see it saved instead of scrapped.

I really want a Model 25! If you could get a Model 25 too that would be good! Then it wouldn't go to scrap. Or if you know who's taking down the 8-8-8 that would be really cool! Cool Il let you know because Ive been keeping an eye on this area. They are starting to widen at Orenda so far one of the new poles are far away from the road it isnt too far from your Unidoor gailgrove, only about 5 lights away Shocked

Agreed this has heritage value, but I think it's one of the ugliest vintage fixtures!
Model25FanForever   [Feb 01, 2014 at 11:05 PM]
I like them because they are different from what I normally see here

Yeah I don't like the Unidor 400s that much either lol. I've warmed up to the Unidor 150 though. Same for the R47. I didn't like it at first but now i think it's a pretty cool light. The Unidors ar two of the most unique cobraheads ever made though. If you've ever seen one opened up you know exactly what I mean... the reflector is mounted to the door along with the ballast and lamp too. To relamp the fixture, the refractor is hinged so you open the refractor in a sense. the fixture remains shut...

Okay, that is pretty neat. Agree, different is always cool.
streetlight98   [Feb 02, 2014 at 12:22 AM]
yeah that's the only reason i like them lol.

There aren't many left here to begin with I know of about 7 still in existance. 5 of them are actually together Laughing
