Lithonia F20T12 strip light
The GE lamp shown here is my first F20T12 lamp, bought in 1996 and used in my bedroom for a few years before I moved out. I put it back into service some years later in this newer Lithonia fixture mounted vertically in my garage. This is the "nighttime" lamp that usually stays on from the time I get home until the time I go to bed, partly as a longevity test and also so I have enough light in the garage for momentary trips, without having to turn on any of the bigger lights. This is also why it has a manual-reset starter in it (which also tends to start the lamp with a long preheat and no blinking). At this point, the lamp has about 15,000 hours on it.

The ends are actually pretty severely banded at this point. You can barely tell when the lamp is off.
