Three-way Marbelite traffic signal cluster at the corner of Church Av. and Albany Av. in Brooklyn, New York. 1969. The bottom and top brackets of the traffic signal cluster are still dark olive green, while the vehicular heads were repainted yellow several years earlier in the decade.
A common practice in the 1960s in New York City was to leave the brackets dark olive green, in which was the color for the traffic signals as well prior to when they were repainted beginning in 1962 and ending later on in the decade. In later years, though, by the beginning of the 1970s, all of the brackets were repainted to match the current color in use.
