At the corner of 85th St. and Astoria Blvd. Queens, New York. Circa 1968. The Marbelite LPS-20 pedestrian signals are painted dark olive green here, in which was a practice in the city in the 1960s; however, by 1969, New York City first began to repaint them yellow, and this became widespread after 1970. All pedestrian signals that were dark olive green were repainted throughout the boroughs sometime in the early 1970s.
