Central Park two-section pedestrian signal (3)

This was an interesting find for me when I first came across the set-up here last Summer. The two-section pedestrian signal was manufactured by the Ruleta company, and it perhaps dates back to the 1930s.

As of present day, this pedestrian signal still remains in useful service, and it is likely the very last Ruleta red and green set-up in the city of New York.

Also note that it is still connected to its original Union Metal pedestal, and the crosswalk set-up here is still controlled by the original G.E. signal controller (as shown in the picture) as well. Aside from these, a handful of other U.M. pedestals and G.E. signal controllers still remain in existence in other areas of Central Park.
