I haven't tried any smaller wattages like the 100W CMH for dusk to dawn service yet,but the Philips ALTO 250W Retro White ceramic metal halide I have that operates on high pressure sodium ballasts is still going strong after about 5 years of dusk to dawn lighting.
Yep it's pretty good for a 15,000 hour CMH lamp. Ah nice,I haven't come across any WW Alto fluoro lamps yet, for the most part I've had pretty good luck with Alto lamps, they last a long time.
Yeah CMH lamps are all PSMH so technically they're CPSMH lol. Philips makes a CMH lamp called AllStart or something like that. It's a CMH lamp that will run on MH or PSMH ballasts (i think maybe HPS too?). They're a slightly reduced wattage too and are pretty expensive. I have a 400W CMH Philips lamp designed for use on a 400W HPS ballast. It's got the long thin HPS lamp envelope. The color is out-of-this-world crisp! I love it! I've only lit it up a couple times though since my 400W HPS ballast serves as a counterweight for my street light.
How does the quality of Alto MH lamps compare to others?
