Destroyed M-400 Refractor Door
|
I saw something laying in the grass and my lighting instinct starting going off and sure enough, a refractor door off a 1966-1969 M-400! about 15 feet away I found the reflector too.
From this door, I took the frontmost part, which has the latch. I brought the nose of the door over to a nearby concrete block and busted off the excess on the section so it could fit into my pocket. When I came home, I too the latch off the piece of the door and dropped the piece of door in the recycling bin.
This door was upside-down when I found it. Those screws were VERY rusted too on the inside, yet aft 20 years of direct weather exposure, the screws came right out with a socket wrench and now I have a nice spare PUSH TO OPEN GE latch.
