CGE retrofits
Heres another beautiful CGE ped signal retrofit. Only 10 of the CGE pedestrian signals here so far have gotten the timer retrofit treatment. I like the square glass thats used over the round lens in 90% of the pedestrian signals here. Hopefully the other remaining CGE pedestrian signals get the same treatment instead of getting scrapped.

What do you mean by "square glass thats used over the round lens"?
Model25FanForever   [Dec 02, 2015 at 03:54 AM]
I think they look way better when it fills the whole section rather than having a circle lens inside like this . Its a circle in a square lol. A square in a square looks better to me.

Agreed on the flat glass ped signals.
You think the AEL125's, R37 and B2225 at that Hartford/Kennedy intersection set are origional?

Could be, Id assume the original is either B2255 or R37. Maybe even all 3 are original. I don't know

Yeah same here. Although the funny thing is, the CGE pedestrian signals originally came with square lenses with a round dome in the centre. I always found it odd they did that instead of using flat lenses.

All the remaining CGE ped signals here still have the incandescent man on the bottom and the same top square lens as seen in this picture (exception of this CGE retrofitted intersection) Also in that link those have the original square with a flat circle instead of the round dome. I guess they may also no longer use domes anymore because LEDs cant melt the snow that lands on top of the lens? That intersection I hope gets fresh lens in them like the ones in the picture.

I remember there used to be a lot of retrofitted CGEs in Missisauga that had the same configuration. Also it seems the earliest CGE peds with the glass DONT WALK/WALK lens also had a flat lens instead of the dome.
