New Controller - Intelight X2 ATC
|
This controller will replace the Eagle/Siemens EPAC M50 that ran my collection the past 8 years. The controller is the most powerful one on the market today, can do up to 40 phases. It has a color touch screen interface with Google Android brain. Apps can be downloaded to it, including games. I have Frogger (appropriately?) downloaded to it. Anything an Android Phone can do, it can, with proper drivers. I can browse the internet as well, just need to connect it to my router. The traffic signal software is called Intelight MaxTime, and runs continuously no matter what other apps open. This innovation of android based controller units allows manufacturers to develop more cloud/web based traffic signal products.
As for the EPAC M50, it has been sold off and will soon be in a new cabinet, controlling another collector's signals. At one time, 10 or 12 years ago, the M50 was the most powerful controller on the market. The advancement in controller technology is astounding!

I suppose once you get the internet connected, you can use the controller to post and comment on here.
All controllers made today have the capabilites to network with other controllers in a closed loop system, regional system, or to a PC or laptop. X2 is the first the integrate a web browser. I dont believe Cobalt has an onboard browser.
And .wow. that it is droid based / you can put apps on it
but if connected to the net that means it has the chance of being hacked and/or virus'ed
