Wow this looks great on this fixture! I wish I had more of these glasses. This glass looks great on the OVZ, 115, 13, M-250A2, M-250R2, OV-15 TuDor, you name it!
Interestingly, the American Electric 13s used this same glass until the late 70s when they switched to the more squared glass that they currently use.
Nice! I believe this is the same glass used on the small Powerlites from the B2227 onwards. Looks a lot more natural compared to the GE plastic refractor.
LOL Yeah this should be the "official" AEL 115 glass since it looks much better than what they use now. The square lens looks weird on the round body. In fact, the square lens would look better on the AE 13, which used the round glass until the late 70s and 80s, when they switched to the square glass. For some reason it appears everyone abandoned this rounded glass. I wonder why, as this glass seems better designed. Less glare and more even light distribution. The square glass has more prisms though so maybe it's more "advanced".
I'm hoping to find a round acrylic lens for this, as that's what it originally had before it got the birds nest 10 or 11 years ago.
