Signal on the left is an old eagle 8-8-8, and the signal facing away is a CGE 8-8-8. Both have new LED amber and green modules while the reds are the original LED's from the first conversion. I think these may be the last of them in the GTA. Also the Eagle 12-8-8 is nice to see still in use. Most of the eagle signals here have been replaced by Fortrans.
Cool to see some 8-8-8s still in use. Toronto also had pretty old hardware in use until recently but they seem to have gone on a blitz replacing them with Fortrans in the last two years.
Alliston still has a lot of vintage CGEs still in use too. I was there on Saturday and was pleased to see most of the CGEs are still in service...and incandescent too. I've noticed a couple got spot replaced with LEDs which makes me wonder if they stopped relamping and convert to LED when a lamp fails.
Yeah theres 2 Fortran 8-8-8's left here in Brampton. The Hartford one has a huge backplate, the one at Bramalea Go has a smaller backplate. I forgot about the Airport one that was Incandescent up until 2012 or so.
Interesting, a 8" 8-8-8 backplate...usually seen in California but I've never seen one in Ontario until now. Most of our signals use 5" backplates.
IIRC the Allen and Transit signal was always a 12-12-12 but the old one was a backplateless CGE. Queens Quay ironically also had a backplateless 12-12-12 in 2015. Might have gotten replaced in 2016 along with the 8-8-8.
I know only of one single 8-8-8 left in Toronto now this CGE according to the August 2017 streetview is still there but it looks like someone converted it to LED. The other contenders, the two CGE 8-8-8s under the Eaton Centre-Bay bridge got replaced in early 2012.
Oshawa still has a small number of 8-8-8s too, including this guy which is a Eagle flatback...a model I believe now extinct from the GTA. Anyway Toronto used to have these backplateless 8-8-8s on the left too but they gradually got rid of them. I vaguely remember still seeing a couple in 2000 or so. Too bad they didn't have streetview back then lol.

Oh and I witnessed this pole and signals come down yesterday, they decided to add a streetlight on the North West side. Sadly the CGE signal got replaced too with it.
It would be amazing if there was streetview in 2000, even over here there used to be a lot of unique fixtures around. I remember 2004 was a bad year for double guy arms being replaced here. lol.
2003 in York Region was a bad year for CGEs as well as incandescent signals in general. I was a bit pleased though when Google later added the 2007 streetviews, they were old enough to capture the last Markham CGEs probably a couple months before they got replaced.
I seen Guild here today with several new Fortran signal heads in the back of the truck. They were what looks to be getting ready to replace one, two, or all three of these signals as I passed by. Im hoping they don't all get replaced.
