An LED street light with a security camera?
Well, I was looking at GreenstarLED's website, and I found this. And they have an option to put a IP security camera made by Auglle, on their Avenger, Corona, and Dawrf Star series LED luminaries! WHY?!?

I'm just glad that the Avenger series that they installed Saturday, doesn't have it, except a leveler they have on there.

Yeah it does! Laughing Especially that split in the middle which has separation for the LEDs and the LED driver. Rolling Eyes Laughing

not a very attractive fixture IMO.
lightingfan8902   [Nov 29, 2018 at 10:53 AM]
Yeah, but TXDOT is using them.

hmmm. i have been seeing more and more LED fixture's on Texas freeway's. i didn't pay enough attention to see what they were i just knew they were LED in areas previously lit by HPS.

Well, TXDOT uses Cooper Navion, Verdeon, XNV2, Philips Lumec Roadfocus, AEL Autobahns, and this fixture (Greenstar Avenger). Not sure what other LED fixtures they use though.

One day, somebody might actually make an LED street light that (a) looks like a street light and (b) actually performs as a street light should. Judging by this sorry example, I don't think anyone has come close yet Confused

Yeah. They just don't think properly. Laughing

well it does look like a streetlight Smile what's attractive is always a hot matter of debate as opinions vary. Preformance between LED fixtures is more varied than HID Fixtures which in my opinion are currently more consistent.

Well, don't forget about the glare. The glare on these fixtures are really bad!
missriaelaine   [Dec 02, 2018 at 10:53 PM]
Tell me about it Confused
Form109   [Dec 04, 2018 at 02:22 PM]
i don't find the Glare on most LED fixtures any worse than the most glary HID Fixtures. so that in itself isn't doesn't register to me. i have more of a problem with the relatively small patch lit with some LED fixtures that don't extend very far. but most ive ran across light quite well.

Come and live around here then Confused
