Awesome! I hope this is the future of installs in peel region. Where is this at on Rathburn?

Funny timing as they have almost eliminated the remainder of the black signal yellow backplate CGE signals.

Haha I don't know how I feel about this yet. Can't understand why they would switch to black housings but yellow backplates. For example, why are the pedestrian housings yellow Laughing .

Any of you guys recall on Rathburn as recent as 2014 an intersection with old metal signals in black also, on plefabs, and with hanger pedestrian signals? Could it have been this intersection?

Maybe they are experimenting. Laughing

Yeah I remember Rathburn having some really old CGE polefab equipment.
My guess is that this is a brand new intersection by the looks of it.

Nice install. Reminds me of the old yellow and black CGE signals that used to be common around the Port Credit area. Like these I believe they were from the 1980s and it seems like they're getting rarer and rarer to see. Yeah I sorta recall seeing similar black and yellow CGE signals somewhere on Rathburn too.

This is located at Hickory and Rathburn. Rathburn isn't a Peel Regional Road so it was installed by the City of Mississauga. Maybe they were installed to deviate signal styles from Peel Region (since Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon use similar setups, amd Mississauga wants to leave Peel lol)

Yeah funny that these got installed as the remainder of the black CGE's are rapidly disappearing. Theres a few left at Tennyson and Lakeshore still. The one right by the credit river I believe is gone now. The whole intersection was under major construction in the fall. Not sure if there are any other stragglers around still.

I was thinking that too with the whole Mississauga and Peel region fiasco going on. I could see them deciding to be independant with signals now and changing it from the Peel signals. They've already done it with the streetlights. Except the peel roads in Mississauga also got the same lights.

I used to live near Rathburn in the 90s and yeah I kinda remember at least a couple of intersections having the black CGEs until around 10 years ago.

Hmm Markham is like that too. The Markham roads have signals and streetlights maintained by Markham. The York Region signals all got reflective yellow backplates but I believe the Markham ones are still plain yellow backplates. They even retrofitted the streetlights on the Markham and York region roads separately and used different fixtures too.

I found more of these over the weekend! Dundas and Mississauga road got fully revamped and all the signals are the black with yellow backplates like these!

Correct. Those lights were installed on June 20th. I saw the contractor install them. The only difference is that the signal housing isn't fully black.
