SoBlue! 4x2 Troffer
The troffer itself is something i picked up for $5 on clearance at Home Depot and is nothing special.
Boring 4-lamp instant-start F32T8 ballast (for the price it was worth getting just for the ballast though LOL)

What makes this worth posting is the lamps i put in it...
They are "Ocean Blue" F40T8's (same color as a older "blue" fluorescent)

What I Hate about these is they tend to get dead bugs stuck in them. Some Troffers I have seen had LOTS of dead bugs!

The wraparounds also get a lot of bugs in them too especially if they use them outside.

I see dead bugs in these & wraparounds too ... sometimes lots of bugs LOL
With my own lights I'll occasionally go and clean out the few dead bugs that collect Smile

BTW, which Home Depot did you get this at? The one on Crestline/Grant Ranch?
xmaslightguy   [Oct 16, 2011 at 03:26 AM]
Yep it was that Grant Ranch one! They had 2 of them left. This one & one that was damaged (big dent in it) I bought both, kept this one as is, gutted the ballast/lampholders out of the damaged one (and later cut it up & did some re-bending and it along with a piece of sheetmetal became these )

I bought a case of the blue lamps on eBay

I see lots of dead bugs in troffers at me school. When the lamps die, the bugs are left scattered around the area where they fell when the janitors open the troffer up. Rolling Eyes They leave the dead flys for the teacher to scream when there are a dozen bugs on her desk. Laughing
