2X15 watt home made preheater
Here it is hung up on the ceiling of my room. I made this 15 watt preheater from the beat up husk of a 4 foot preheater that seemed to be beyond repair. Fortunately there was enough there to make a shorter fixture out of it. I also made end plates for it using ducting sheetmetal. The plan is to find a grille for the bottom part and plastic panels for the sides. All in all, this turned out pretty well.

Good job! making a damaged fixture using the good parts to make it a fixture!

That's the idea. Somehow it didn't feel right to leave an entire vintage fixture husk to go to waste and there was enough good sections of it left to do this.

If you want plastic sides, go to lowe's or Home Depot. They have troffer lenses that they sell separetly. You can cut the lenses to the correct size.
