Incandescent vs. LED vs. "2700K" CFL R20/PAR20s in my Uplight
Today, I decided to compare various R20 light bulbs in my little Kenroy Home incandescent uplight. I tried the Philips 45w incandescent I normally use, a Sylvania 14w CFL, and a GE 7w LED LED PAR20. The incandescent had a nice warm color with a wide beam spread. The LED's more narrow beam and 3000K color didn't look nearly as good in my opinion. The real surprise was when I got to the CFL. It had a very whitish color to it. It was more similar to the LED than the incandescent. [Continued in Comments]

[Continued] However, it is labeled as 2700K. In fact, I had to double-check the package and bulb to make sure they were not labeled as 3000K. It certainly did not have the same yellowish tone as the rest of the lights in my bedroom, which are all 2700K. It clashed very badly. Very odd, I wonder if Sylvania accidentally used 3000K phosphor instead of 2700K. The incandescent and CFL images have been edited to better show their actual colors. The LED is not edited as it already looks close enough to real life.
