Nice Scene of Downtown Lindale Texas Showing Some signal lights and the older streetlights
You Can See Several Old Remote Ballasted OV-25 Fixtures............the Newer AE Fixture to the Right Replaced a Crouse Hinds OVM..which was 400 Watt MV
Horizontal traffic lights here in Israel is really non exist. I think this is to allow color blind drivers to guess the color by the height of the operating light (Red is on the top Yellow is in the middle and green is on the bottom).
Edit: I also think that in Israel, horizontal mounted traffic lights is a transgression of the transportation's laws because of the above reasons.
Thank You Mr.Whiz. ....and dor123 i havent a clue why Texas uses a lot of Horizontally oriented signal installations...we do have some Verticle ones...not too many though,i agree they could be a bit of a hazzard to those who are color-blind.
Idk. I am colorblind... But I know which is green/red/yellow because I can easily tell the diff from green and red and yellow. But those who are MUCH more colorblind than me and can't see any colors.... That would be bad.
I know why Texas does horizontal, It is because of the wind and stuff, so they don't siggle and better support.. That is my guess though.
this is Probably an Older State Installation...this signal has a hexagonal shaft, newer ones are just round....small towns like this often have there signals installed by the the state it seems, while larger towns might have some state owned in addition to ones owned by a local municipal area electric company.
