Today I shelled out some money to buy this LED lamp at Lowes. It features 4 high power LED emitters. I like the shape of the lamp. By no means this is competitive with incandescent bulbs tho!
Nice looking lamp. The refractor over the LEDs look like it can be removed. If it's possible, can you post a pic of the LEDs inside? How much you paid for them?
LED Lamps are Flat out Rare here.....i think walmart sells one or two...but ive only seen one place that used them...and they were dissapointingly Dim and the LED Diodes were all odd colored and flickering....id Rather use PL Adapters.
I suspect that high power LEDs (1W and higher) have a shorter life then the regular LEDs, high or low brightness (Like 5mm). Because they heats up considerably and even they are must be installed behind a heat sink, it is not 100% solves the heating problem. So they even more sensitive to high environment temperature.
I think this lamp may have Philips Luxeon emitters as they are similar in design to the emitters in the Philips LED lamps sold at Home Depot. It's actually kinda bright. The heat sink does get quite warm tho. I paid $40 for this baby!
