There aren;t as many post top lights in my area; they use regular cobraheads on concrete poles in my area, although I like this setup better.

Update: this Twistpak got a new refractor and top housing after it got broken and I reported it.
joe_347V   [Apr 25, 2011 at 08:18 PM]
Cool to see that they fixed it up instead of replacing the lume.
gailgrove   [Apr 25, 2011 at 08:32 PM]
Yeah, they will fix the Twistpaks but they won't replace them, with these one you can't replace the fixture anyways since they are one part (you would have to replace the pole)
streetlight98   [Apr 25, 2011 at 09:06 PM]
That's cool that they're one part, but costly as well. If the fixture is a total loss, you have to replace the whole pole.
gailgrove   [Apr 25, 2011 at 09:11 PM]
Well since all the electrical components are on a ballast tray there aren't any other components in the "fixture" to fail, meaning the only reason to replace the pole would be if it is damaged. Wink
streetlight98   [Apr 25, 2011 at 09:55 PM]
total loss meaning let's say some snotty teen hits it with a baseball bat or chucks a brick at the fixture and it isn't repairable, they would have to replace the whole pole rather than just the fixture.
gailgrove   [Apr 25, 2011 at 10:01 PM]
Well these really don't have a fixture, they are a pole with a ballast tray and a top housing (refractor and reflector) both of those two components are repair/replaceable, as for hitting it with a brick/bat, I don't think the pole would notice Laughing
streetlight98   [Apr 25, 2011 at 10:48 PM]
The pole: nah, it won't get harmed. If it does, that's one cheap pole. Laughing

Interesting, never heard of a fixture being integrated on to the pole. Shocked
GullWhiz   [Apr 26, 2011 at 04:47 AM]
How about a car goes BAM on the pole.....

Would you be able to collect that THING?!
gailgrove   [Apr 26, 2011 at 08:14 PM]
Yeah, well Joseph maybe if you ever come to visit my house you'll see these (this is just behind my house) but yep the pole a fixture are integrated (it goes from pole to refractor) and Jace I actually plan to collect one, when they get replaced (which I doubt will be to long from now) the whole thing only weights about 80 lbs.
streetlight98   [Apr 26, 2011 at 09:15 PM]
80lbs isn't too bad considering the pole and fixture together. Shipping to Jace would be a killer though.
joe_347V   [Apr 27, 2011 at 01:10 AM]
Hmm is this the pole base mounted or directly buried?
gailgrove   [Apr 27, 2011 at 08:25 PM]
Yeah, I don't want to think about shipping to Jace, Joseph the pole is direct burial.
