Did you take the Durastar?
joe_347V   [Mar 28, 2011 at 02:45 AM]
Nope, didn't want my Powerlites making fun of it Laughing
gailgrove   [Mar 28, 2011 at 02:58 AM]
Good idea, I guess you could of still gotten the ballast out of it since it looks kind of smashed up, just out of curiosity where is it? Just in case I happen to be going near it.
joe_347V   [Mar 28, 2011 at 03:10 AM]
PM sent.
gailgrove   [Mar 28, 2011 at 03:12 AM]
Thanks, I doubt I'll be out there but who knows.
joe_347V   [May 02, 2011 at 08:57 PM]
And a new AE 125 took its place, it's still FCO though.
LilCinnamon   [Sep 02, 2011 at 05:50 AM]
I would of totally grabbed it if I was there!

Watch out for splinters. Razz
joe_347V   [Sep 02, 2011 at 05:17 PM]
Yep wear gloves before touching DuraGlas. Laughing

I probably would have taken it for the Ballast, socket, PC recep, and capacitor. (i would assume the ignitor wouldn't survive the impact, but you never know.
gailgrove   [Sep 02, 2011 at 07:44 PM]
I'd say the igniter would of, those encapsulated AEL ones are pretty strong.
joe_347V   [Sep 02, 2011 at 07:47 PM]
Well unless it flew out and got crushed by a car I think the ignitor would have survived too.
streetlight98   [Sep 02, 2011 at 07:47 PM]
The encapsulated ones would of course, well the casing would. The internals may come loose. I was thinking the dura 3000 had an internal ignitor for some reason. Thoose cheap exposed ones are to fragile. Rolling Eyes
gailgrove   [Sep 02, 2011 at 07:51 PM]
Those "cheap exposed ones" are plugin encapsulated igniters, not the cheap plastic ones.
streetlight98   [Sep 02, 2011 at 07:53 PM]
I meant open board one. Wink The parts are exposed.
joe_347V   [Sep 02, 2011 at 07:55 PM]
Personally I think the GE plugin ones are even more fragile than the AE open board ones.
gailgrove   [Sep 02, 2011 at 07:57 PM]
I meant the Durastar has one of those encapsulated igniters. And yeah those GE ones are really fragile.
streetlight98   [Sep 02, 2011 at 08:00 PM]
Yeah. GE ignitors are super delicate. A light down the road from me stopped working after a car hit the pole because the ignitor got damaged. not to mention it lost its door too. I like encapsulated ignitors the best.
LilCinnamon   [Sep 02, 2011 at 08:07 PM]
I have 2 Broken GE ignitors. One of them came with my M-400 A2! I bought it on ebay, and when I opened the power door I found the ignotor broken! Well the plastic part.
streetlight98   [Sep 02, 2011 at 08:09 PM]
Yeah the GE ignitors should really be put in bubble wrap when being shipped.
