Lampi 12" F8T5 Fixture
A Lampi 12" F8T5 preheat fixture .. this is the fancier model with a diffuser
Something I found at a local thrift store a few weeks ago.

I liked Lampi's fixtures .. and always loved to walk down the lighting section when they existed

Nice! I used to have one with more milky white diffuser....and it had F18T8/F17T8 lamp I believe I still have the Lampi branded lamp! And the German made European style USA electrically ballast!

Cool.. Esp the European style ballast!
I've got the F18T8 version of this light (so slim that even a T9 lamp won't fit) but its got a more US looking ballast - but longer/thinner than i've seen in any 24" preheat fixture... (for some reason that one is also noisy)

This one may have the European style ballast dude...I mean the white narrow ballast with small screws are the European style! Please show me all those Lampi ballasts, I am curious!

This one has a normal F8T5 preheat choke.
I'll open the F18T8 & take a pic of its ballast sometime.
----------
I do have an aquarium light with one of those European style 120v ballasts (& a 'Thorn' starter...LOL the starter is the reason i grabbed that light Smile )

edit:
As requested, the ballast in that F18T8 fixture

I found an aquarium light with a F15T8 Thorn "Tropical Daylight" lamp and an European-looking plastic-cased starter and little "Booster" choke ballast (which I still have but the body of the fixture was tossed...the lamp and starter are currently growing a celery plant in a preheat undercabinet light...

Awesome find on that aquarium light. Did you get a pic of the fixture?

Be interesting to compare it to that aquarium light with European-style ballast I have...

Nope...it was disgusting and falling apart so I saved the guts (lamp, ballast, starter) and tossed the rest.

The one I have is falling apart too (but is atleast clean LOL) I did consider junking the 'fixture' part but decided to keep it all together

Mine had UV-crumbed plastic and was just really dirty and ugly...
