[Gone] 3M Adapter
Here's a couple of signals in Toronto, note that the green indication on the cross street signal has been fitted with one of those 8" 3M signal adapters used to limit the visibility of the light so that you can't see the green when you're too far from the signal. For more information and pics of the adapters see this page.

Note the incandescent amber lens too, when Toronto did their LED retrofits in the mid-late 2000s they only replaced the red and green incandescent lenses with LED modules. New lights also came with incandescent ambers until 2009 when full LED lights were used. The remaining incandescent ambers are slowly being refitted with LEDs starting in mid 2012 when the lights in the downtown got new LED ambers including the picture light.

I fixed the problem with the link, Joe did it correctly but there was an extra character that needed to be removed, so just helped fix it..

I've seen 8 inch 3M adapters though most of them have become obsolete.

Update, The incandescent amber light on this signal was also replaced with a LED Dialight amber last summer.

IIRC the 3M adapters are still intact and I think they're still incandescent.

Update: the 12-12-12 CGE has since been replaced with a plumbizer 12-12-12 Fortran.
