Difference between QM and AH Difference between the Quartermoon and the Admiral Hat. Difference between the Quartermoon and the Admiral Hat.

The Quartermoon is generally the older design while the admiral hat is newer....in MD...both are found....but in BGE and PEPCO....the admiral hats are found WITHOUT the shields and are incandescent while the ones in Delmarva have the shields and are mercury vapor!

Admiral's hat. But the AH optic looks better on a regular NEMA head.

NEMA head is just an NEMA head...LOL there's not really a "Regular NEMA head" As long it has 8 inch diameter with clips...its a NEMA head!

You only get to know if you LOOK and browse site....the Admiral Hat was a recent catch last summer......It did come with an head, which was a MV fixture but ballast and socket assembly was removed...and it was 240 volt anyway!

On this NEMA head in particular, the quartermoon looks better, but I personally prefer the AH.
