Actually they do hold well...I have NEVER seen one missing a door around here....They use the exact same or similar latch as the OV-15 Tudors, OV-25 tudors, OVM, OVS, and OVD as far as I know!!!
Really? I've seen plenty of blown off doors. Not with the Westie or C-H ones, but definetly on the OVZ. The others not so much, but I do see some other cooper lights on occasion.
Oh yeah it's more for the newer ones but not because of the latch...but because of the hinges...they break easily....but this fixture on the picture....those don't really lose doors from what I've seen...we got tons of those for MD state lighting
Yeah, I can't figure this one out. I played around with mine and the door doesn't come off that easily. I keep thinking some removed those doors on purpose...but why?
It's possible they removed the door on this to show it needs replacement. The lamp looks like it doesn't work. On the other hand, that's unlikely since that dirt baked on the the reflector tells me the door was off while the lamp was working (unless the refractor was missing before the door was removed/fell off).
Here NGrid just leaves the light alone until they repalce it. Seems to be the most logical in my opinion. I mean, why take two trips up the pole when it can be done in one? If they're going to remove parts from the light, you'd think they'd simply replace the light!
So I am actually SURPRISED on this situation!
