Here is the inside. Looks like all the inside components are held in by a bracket, instead of on the housing. The bracket is held in by four large screws.
The lamp was found inside the fixture, a nice 400w GE Lucalox, instead of an ALTO, which I THOUGHT I would find.
The reflector is very shiny. This light is in GOOD condition! Except for the hinge which is a tad bit broken, but at least it's good.
That "bracket" is called a ballast tray. Makes serviceing a whole lot easier. Like a Powr/door. The cooper ballast trays have a hinged metal plate like this that's held by a screw and unplugs just like a powr/door.
No that is not what it is. there are four big screws holding it in. Jace said it was there because the 400 watt ballast was bigger. And plus this light is a bit old.
GE doesn't do a ballast tray, they just do the Power door with the M-400 A3.
