No Sleeping on the Job!
Here's a Cooper OV 25 that the line crew took down when they were replaceing the old power poles with some new taller ones. I guess they're going to put it back up on the new pole but the crews [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-6231]have suprised me before.[/url]

I see you changed the pic title.

So do you like "No Sleeping on the Job!" or "Break Time!" more? Razz
streetlight98   [Aug 12, 2011 at 03:18 AM]
I like "No Sleeping on the Job!". But for "break time" i would have commented "take time". Laughing (of course not to take without permission, it just rhymed.)

This light would of already been in my truck.......jk! Nice shot of the fixture. Is this the more modern Canadian fixture?
joe_347V   [Aug 12, 2011 at 03:53 AM]
Laughing The arm dosen't even fit in the car.

And yeah, this is the more modern Canadian version of the Westinghouse OV 25, that's made by Cooper now.
gailgrove   [Aug 13, 2011 at 02:54 AM]
The design (the outside anyway) is actually exactly the same as my Westinghouse Canada OV-25 from 1983, it would be in my car too Razz
joe_347V   [Aug 13, 2011 at 02:59 AM]
Yeah the Canadian Westy OV 25s have a blunt end and the PC more centered.
streetlight98   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:01 AM]
hinges appear to be Cooperized too if i see correctly. Are these special order or something? I wish these were sold here.
joe_347V   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:05 AM]
The Canadian OV 25s look like they have a different hinge design.
gailgrove   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:05 AM]
They must be special order as they aren't on the Cooper website, from what I have seen on here and LG FCO Cooper OV-25 seem to be fairly common in Texas.
GullWhiz   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:07 AM]
Yes I noticed Canada Silverliners have different hidges....the USA ones seem stronger...and somewhat nicer design...but again the ones you pointed at could be a newer 80s version? The hinges look similar to the L-150s and L-250s which are the newer Westy Stuff
streetlight98   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:13 AM]
Wonde if these come in hammered silver of if Cooper is too lazy. I know Canada like no paint so i guess we won't find out.
gailgrove   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:20 AM]
Only if you custom order it, Coopers standards finishes for all of their lights are grey, black, bronze, white and bare aluminum.
joe_347V   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:40 AM]
I believe the OV 25 I linked to was from the late 70s when the freeway near it was built.

I've noticed that the Canadian Westy OV 15s look very similar to the American ones aside from the unipainted body.
streetlight98   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:43 AM]
cooper seems to only pic on the medium fixtures. The OVZ still resembles the L150if you think long enough but the OVD???
gailgrove   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:45 AM]
Flattened OVM?
streetlight98   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:49 AM]
the only thing the same is the refractor.
gailgrove   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:50 AM]
The size looks to be the same too.
streetlight98   [Aug 13, 2011 at 03:05 PM]
Maybe, but the resemblence definetly isn't obvious.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 30, 2011 at 06:42 AM]
The OVH is like a smaller version of the OVF. Or the OVG is a smaller version of the OVD/Y I think that's the point why the OVG and OVH were made, to match the OVD, OVF, and OVF better. Especially since both have flattened 90 degree angles.
