Cool setup, but I have one question though: Why the heck a floodlight in a closet?? XD There's a way to install a more suitable covered fixture (NO bare bulb since it's prohibited by the code LOL).

Well it is a covered lamp, I'll admit it is a bit overkill but it only has a 100 watt lamp. It's mounted under the basement stairs and may eventually have a part of my Dad's train layout running under it, that is the reason for wanting it bright!

Oddly enough I've been in some houses that had bare lamps in the closet and they were put in by the builder. Shocked

@Niall I thought most HID fixtures were marked "not for use in dwellings". Razz

Only my wallpacks, none of my other fixtures have that marking.

Yeah my box store tallpacks say the same thing too but I can't find it on my yardlight or my cobraheads. Although who'd use a cobrahead indoors, aside from us of course.

as long as it gets proper ventalation. I'm sure the code has something about using outdoor fixtures inside and vise versa

Yes there are codes with using inside.....this is why I don't exactly install streetlights to "deadweights' only the ''liveweights" and all will have plugs instead of directly wired! And I add protection.

Well this if safe anyway, it's a heck of a lot better than using an indoor fixture outside (which I have seen many times before). Don't forget codes also vary from place to place, and while Canada and the USA may have very similar codes, they aren't exactly the same in every way, plus Ontario has it's own separate code to the rest of Canada.
