1 KW Powerlite B2255 Lamp Compartment
Here is the BT-56 lamp in the different reflector, it is the same size but the socket is mounted MUCH further back! I wonder if the B2255 could be considered a large fixture?

Hmm it looks like if you remove the original socket bracket on a B2255 and make a new bracket for the socket you can convert a B2255 to 1kW lamps.

I noticed this one has a felt gasket instead of the the rubber one too.

It might be possible to convert one, but I don't think I'd attempt it. Interesting how it has a different gasket, I guess it was another option.

Yeah the socket bracket on mine is riveted on and I don't think I would drill them out to convert it too.

Wow that's crazy! I guess the 1kw B2255s in the parking lot near me have BT56 lamps then.

Yeah, I'm am actually starting to wonder if the B2255 is a large fixture, since a BT-56 lamp can fit in it, plus it is a big fixture. I think it is on the border between medium and large.

The lamp is busted in this fixture!
gailgrove   [Aug 25, 2011 at 09:13 PM]
Yes it is, the lamps where broken in many of the fixtures at this yard too.

Yeah I wonder if the B2255 could be consider a large fixture too, the refractor on a lot of medium fixtures is smaller then the B2255's.
