Well this was my collection back in July 2009, this was after my second trip to a street lighting contractor which happened days before this picture. The first light I got was the FCO 125 back in May 2009.
Well different areas have different lights, you only saw a very small part of Ontario which is just a small part of Canada. GE lights are not too common here but you will find some, kind of like Powerlites in the States.
Yeah the MTO uses a fair number of them but I think it is more up to the contractor to decide what to use as long as they comply with the MTO's list of approved fixtures.
They aren't on this list, therefore they can't get put up by the contractors. I would guess it's not on the list due to some *cough*quality*cough* issues and uh durability issues.
Thankfully, National Grid doesn't install Duras- or even AEL for that matter. Pascog Utility, which is a smaller company that is fed by National Grid, is a small utility in the Burrilville area of RI and they use Durastars and OVH.
They don't install them now, I guess for obvious reasons.
