wow a plastic refractor?.... i though they only came with glass....they still look like nice fixtures, they blend in but have just enough of a Decorative element.
I though they only came with a glass refractor too but the spec sheet I linked above says you can order them with plastic too. They're not that common here I've only seen them used in some back alleys.
hmm. i'm guessing this is a very rare find in Ontario. (the plastic refractor). I never knew these came in plastic either. I was assuming that this was a Lexalite refractor (lexalite does make this kind of refractor)
Always knew they were plastic...but they did come in glass for the older ones......They use the same bucket refractor found on NEMA heads.....I have seen open bottom bucket versions too
Yeah, I have noticed the glass ones tend to have rounded bottom while plastics have squared bottom...I know Chicago had glass refractors, but now all are plastic LOL....Remember there's always people breaking glass, and the replacement ends up.....plastic!!!
remember though, after polycarbonate has yellowed to a degree, it's even weaker than acrylic, which is why I don't like polybarbonate refractors. Acrylic is better than poly IMO.
