Where the B2227s Live
Here's a scene view of the quiet industrial park in Newmarket, Ontario where the mercury B2227s are. The poles are Lacal Sectional Steel poles which are still made by Polefab.

Here's the pole tag:

Nice! From what I here this is ultra rare in Ontario. Cool Are all of these mercury vapor?

Thanks, I believe all of the B2227s on this street are all indeed mercury vapour. Cool

In Toronto (and York Region) no merc poles exist. They have all been replaced with HPS, MH, or in some places LED.

This was taken in York Region, it's 99% HPS but this is the 1% of MV still left, I actually took a picture of the fixture tag and went back at night to and saw that they were indeed MV.

Oh and you could always see them for yourself, it's not that far away.

Wow. That one has been dayburning since at least April 2009. Shocked

This picture was taken on the 12th of November, but I am not sure how long it has been dayburning before that.

But the street view tells it all, it sure HAS been dayburning for a long time! o.o

There was a 50w HPS M-250R2 in my neighboorhood that had been dayburning since the summer of 2006 until September of THIS YEAR when it was replaced by another 50w HPS M-250R2. It wasn't cycling either. Shocked THAT'S what I can proudly call a quality lamp. I can't say the same for the PC thoguh. Laughing My guess if they replaced the dayburning M-250R2 with a new fixture because of possible heat damage to the wires. It was working fine though. Just one less M-250R2 flat door thoguh. Sad

Update, I REALLY wonder if these guys are still up. A member on LG that lives around where these lights are recently got several 175w B2227s from a streetlight yard. If they are these lights in the pic, I'm glad they got saved instead of sent to the scrapheap.
streetlight98   [Jun 03, 2015 at 08:17 PM]
Hmm too bad if these are removed but good that someone saved them. Who's this member you speak of? I wonder if he'd be willing to send one my way. Shipping would be a killer though. Sad
joe_347V   [Jun 08, 2015 at 04:44 PM]
Yeah, I believe the member is Subway5411 but I think you already commented on his pics lol. Shipping WOULD be killer. I remember shipping a traffic light across Ontario was around $30. Imagine shipping a cobra to RI. Shocked
streetlight98   [Jun 08, 2015 at 08:38 PM]
Yeah I discovered that soon after commenting here lol. Shipping the M-400A2 (sans refractor) to Canada will be well over $100 (stupidly, it would be the same price to ship it to Ontario as it is for BC, since USPS uses one flat rate for international shipping based on the country; it still ended up being cheaper to ship it to Darren via his Washington address so that's what we're going to do when he wants me to ship the light.
