Ugly hack job! See spiral CFL in the ITT 327 with missing door?
About half of these ITTs are now fitted with these big spirals! The rest have mercury vapor and metal halide lamps, including one old clear 1000w merc. It appears the ones with CFLs still contain ballasts, just bypassed with the sockets now connected directly to the mains. Man I hope they don't put HID lamps back in without reconnecting the ballasts, or else BAM! The 327s are located in a strip mall in Banning, CA which contains a Mexican style supermarket, a big thrift store (I wanted to visit this store but it was a Sunday, next time!) and others.

Ew, I wonder if they did that because the ballast blew.

i can't imagine the ones with CFLs give off any more light than a 150W HPS at best.

EW!! I don't see that becoming very bright either lol. It also looks like the other 327 is sideways. Looks like a tacky job

The birds like it 3 to 1 over the original however. You find the weirdest stuff out there Dave.

WOW! how could I have missed this picture lol? now that's something you don't see everyday....true enough its not uncommon to see a fixture lamped with an incorrect lamp (the most common version I see is a yard blaster with a 400W size lamp) but this takes the cake...I don't see this being effective in the least bit....say dave is there any chance of a night shot in the spot if this setup is still present?
