Good Earth Lighting 55W 2D Fluorescent Floor Lamp
I got this 2D fluorescent floor lamp at a ReStore recently. Searching the model number online yields only one result, Lowe's.com. This must have been a Lowe's exclusive product, weird. This listing also reveals it to be a Good Earth Lighting product, though the lamp itself appears unbranded.

This unit takes a single 55-watt 2D fluorescent tube. It came with a heavily used GE F552D/830. The tube assembly plugs into the electronic ballast, which is branded as Universal and seems to be rapid-start. The knob on the side of the lamp is a full-range dimmer, not even just a multi-step one! It dims just like a dimmable CFL, no more than halfway. That's probably exactly what this is, no shot there's a 0-10V system in here.

The lamp is metal. The base is filled with this rock material that is normally encased in plastic. On mine, part of that plastic had been compromised and the rocky stuff was spreading all over my floor! That issue was easy to fix with some electrical tape. The cord is just a standard 18/2 SPT-2. I believe this lamp was manufactured in 2007 or 2008, based on the UL label date of December 2006.

Cool! I've never had one of these before, is it very bright?
