Westinghouse F6T5/W Halophophosphate White Fluorescent Lamps
|
Today, I received these five F6T5/W fluorescent lamps that I ordered on eBay last Wednesday. These are neat since they are in the rare /W color, a 3500K halophosphate formulation. The product photos showed Sylvania lamps, but the ones I received are from Westinghouse and didn't come with a Sylvania box shown.
There were two types of Westinghouse lamps: two newer lamps made in Italy with ribbed end caps and three older lamps made in Mexico with smooth end caps. I found five lamps unbelievably difficult to install, almost as if the pins were too far apart of something. The newer ones were much harder than the older ones though, I even broke the glue in one of the end caps while trying to install it. The newer F6T5/W lamps were brighter than the older ones, but both had the same unique color. It looks like any old 3500K color, but it has a certain old-school look to it.
Overall, I'm happy with these lamps because of their rarity and interesting color, but I won't use them too much because they're difficult to install. Whenever I install one, I feel like I'm damaging both the lamp and my sockets.
