Airport Taxiway Edge Light Lens, this will for the Crouse and Hinds VAW Obstruction Light see HERE, this Lens would also fit my Unknown Obstruction Light see HERE
Any idea how much those fixtures brand new would cost?!
I guess Westinghouse uses same style as Crouse Hinds? Or are they more of universal screw in style...the ones in the picture I saw of yours has deeper top than mine.....
On mine the front says "Westinghouse Style" with numbers which I think is frosted on that says "121863" which is either date or the style number, which I am not sure...but it could mean December 18, 1963??? On the other side of this has a "K" inside a circle...which is also found on my 1980s HPS 70 watt flood light glass.....any ideas?
Yep Crouse & Hinds bought out Westinghouse Airport lighting back in the 1980's hence why the glass are the same, re the 121863 this is the old Westy Code for the Glass, today they are made by KOPP Glass Inc, catalogue No AP-3519 see HERE they manufacture Glass Globes and Lesnses for all types of fittimgs re the K inside the Circle that's the KOPP Logo
Hey Jace You Should Find a Celling Collar Fixture for it Like This One....it may have screw threads on the Glass...but it should fit snugly with the Right Fitter Size...just a Thought.
These Lenses are supplied today for Airport Lighting Applications especially for Private/ Small Airports, where Low or Medium Intensity Lighting is approved for nighttime operations, if Clear they are Approach/Runway Edge, Green for Runway Threshold, Red for Runway End/Obstruction, and Blue for Taxiway Edge, they are also sold in Amber for Helicopter Pads and Runway Edge Lights where they are used for indication to aircraft reaching the end of the runway,
I have the same type of fresnel lenses on my Crouse-Hinds VAW obstruction light in red glass here . Joseph, these may fit on the vapour tight fixtures, but there is a good chance that these are a little larger diameter and threads are a bit finer pitch as well.
Yeah my vapourtight fixture has around a 3" to 3 1/2" collar so it can't fit this globe but I wonder if they make these fixtures with a bigger collar like how form109 suggested.

This will also fit your Godfrey DLA400 series Obstruction Lights too, as they use the same Glass Globes.
Off to get more NATO Lamps now
